Mehmet Güner, of Hatboro, PA passed away peacefully in Jefferson-Abington Hospital in Abington, PA. He was 83 years old. Mehmet was born in 1939 in Kemaliye, Erzincan, Turkey and was the son of Haci Bekir Güner and Nafi’ye Güner (nee Genç).
Mehmet studied engineering at Erzincan Sanat Enustutusu in Turkey and moved to Germany to work for Mercedes-Benz for eight years before relocating to the United States to become an engineering operations supervisor for the Leneko Precision Corporation until his retirement in 2005.
Mehmet adored President Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the first President of the Republic of Turkey and he proudly served as a lieutenant in the Turkish Army. Mehmet lived in three countries over the course of his life that included Turkey, Germany and the United States. Mehmet was very passionate about boxing and he loved to play backgammon. Mehmet loved his home country of Turkey and the United States where he proudly flew the United States Flag on his lawn, but most of all, he loved his family. He was a man of strong faith.
Mehmet is survived by his second wife: Song Hui Li, son: Can Güner, daughter: Gulay Güner, grandchildren: Jonathan, Lucas and Lacey; brother: Fahri Güner and sister: Hulya Güner.
Mehmet was predeceased by his first wife and the mother of his children, Gülten Güner (nee Altüglü), brother: Osman Güner, father: Haci Bekir Güner, and mother: Nafi’ye Güner.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mehmet’s interment service on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 9:30 A.M. at Pine Grove Memorial Park located at 1475 W. County Line Road, Hatboro PA 19040.
