Michael L. Spagna, of Macungie, formerly a 46 year resident of Hatboro, passed away at Phoebe Ministries-Allentown on February 7, 2020. He was 77 years old. Michael was the beloved husband of Maureen (Schneider) Spagna with whom he had shared 46 years of Marriage. He was born in South Philadelphia, a son of the late Dr. Francis and Mafalda Spagna.
In addition to his wife, Michael is survived by a son, Kevin Spagna and his wife, Jaime; two grandchildren, Connor and Justin Spagna; and three sisters, Gilda Giangalini and her husband, Art, Frances Spagna, and Lucrezia Spagna. Michael was also predeceased by a brother, Dr. Paschal Spagna and a sister, Maria Russo.
Michael was an avid reader and visitor to the library who was constantly learning. He liked making people laugh and remained a kid at heart no matter his age. He served as a tank driver in the PA Army National Guard. He also enjoyed working for Smith-Klein in King of Prussia and GMAC in Horsham before his retirement.
Michael’s funeral mass and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Michael’s memory may be made to Phoebe Ministries-Allentown and Alzheimer’s Association, Delaware Valley Chapter.
