Muriel Oughton Goodman of Southampton passed away on May 22, 2022 at Southampton Estates at the age of 101. Muriel was the beloved wife of the late Robert Goodman.
Born in Abington, she was the daughter of the late Bertram and Edith (Nagle) Oughton.
Muriel graduated from Abington High School and Edgewood Park Junior College in New York. A faithful member of Neshaminy Warwick Presbyterian Church for 71 years, she taught Sunday school and served as a deacon. She was a long time member of the National Alliance on Mental Illness and volunteered at Norristown State Hospital. A lover of wildlife, Muriel volunteered at the Nature Center at Peace Valley Park in Doylestown. She was an excellent cook, an avid gardener and an accomplished seamstress.
Muriel is survived by her children; Peter (Barbara) Goodman of Jamison, Linda Goodman of Ivyland, Christopher (JoAnn) Goodman of Doylestown, and Barbara White of Chalfont and Richard
Goodman who predeceased her, also survived by her grandchildren; Scott Goodman of Chandler, AZ, Marcella Downing of Ferrisburg, VT, Philip Goodman of Chalfont, Meredith White of Charlotte, NC, Jessica (Brian) Conlon of Warrington, Daniel R. (Monica) White of Matthews, NC: great-grandchildren; Emily Ann, Ella Marie and Lucas Robert Goodman of Chandler, AZ, Aidan White of Charlotte, NC, Oscar and John-Henry Downing of Ferrisburg, VT, Chloe and Fiona White of Matthews, NC and Sloane and Sawyer Conlon of Warrington.
Family and friends are invited on June 6, 2022, from 9:30am to 10:30am to share family condolences, her funeral service at 10:30 am at Neshaminy Warwick Presbyterian Church, 1401 Meetinghouse Road, Warminster, PA. Internment is private.
