Nadia Mishtuk (nee Kuszolap) of Philadelphia, PA passed away peacefully on February 27, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Nadia was 98 years old. Nadia was born on March 6, 1924 in Rusosha, Ukraine and was the daughter of Mychall Kuszolap and Nadia Cybulska. Nadia was the wife of Andrew Mishtuk and together they celebrated 56 year of marriage.
Nadia was the true definition and the face of a survivor. Nadia survived the Bolshevik Reign, World War II and forced labor camps. Nadia immigrated to the United States in search of freedom and prosperity and became the epitome of what it means to live the American Dream. Nadia was a proud American and remained proud of her Ukrainian heritage.
Nadia was a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and matriarch. Nadia was a devoted member of St. Josephat’s Ukrainian Church. Nadia was a true entrepreneur and she owned and operated a farm and hotel. Nadia was devoted to God, family and her business pursuits.
Nadia is survived by her family: Metro Mishtuk, Michael Mishtuk, Alexander Mishtuk, Marianna Mishtuk, Caroline Mishtuk and Kim Mishtuk. Nadia was predeceased by her husband Andrew and daughter Helen Rix.
Relatives and friends are invited to Nadia’s viewing on Friday, March 3. 2023 from 9:00 A.M. - 10:00 A.M. immediately followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. precisely at Saint Michael The Archangel Ukrainian Catholic Church located at 1013 Fox Chase Road, Jenkintown, PA 19046. Interment will be in Lawnview Cemetery located at 500 Huntingdon Pike, Jenkintown, PA 19046.
