Nancy Rich Obituary

Nancy J. Rich, of Warminster, passed away on May 10, 2021.  She was 82 years old.  Nancy was born in Abington, PA, a daughter of the late John A. and Mae Erk.

She graduated from Abington High School in 1956 and attended Pierce Business School.  Nancy began her career with Standard Press Steel Co., Jenkintown (now SPS Technologies) leaving in 1963 to raise her family.  As her children began to mature, she re-entered the business world serving as Executive Vice-President of the East Montgomery County Assoc. of Realtors, Executive Vice-President of Suburban Multiple Listing Service, and Director of the Real Estate Network of Delaware Valley, Inc. (TREND).

As a member of the Springfield Rotary, Nancy was presented the Paul Harris Fellow Award in 1993 which she was most proud of receiving.

After retiring and relocating to Shepherd’s Crossing (Christ Home Retirement Community), Nancy served as a volunteer in several capacities claiming doing so kept her “young.”

Nancy was a dedicated supporter when it came to her grandchildren’s sporting events.  She could often be found on the bleachers at Hatboro Little League supporting Troy and Jordan during their baseball and softball playing days.  Rarely ever did she miss a game.   She also was a die-hard Phillies and Eagles fan, as well as a Penn State Football fan.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was predeceased by a brother, John A. Erk, Jr. and Richard W. Erk; and an infant grandson, Tyler Brian Rich.

She is survived by a daughter, Jill S. Weller (Ned) of Hatboro; a son, Brian C. Rich (Dawn) of Downingtown; granddaughter, Jordan R. Davis (Kevin); grandson, Troy N. Weller (Kirsten); and brother, Robert C. Erk of California.

Relatives and friends will be received by her family on Friday, May, 14th after 10:00 a.m. in Schneider Funeral Home, 431 N. York Rd. Hatboro followed by her Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m.  Her interment will follow in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler.  If desired, memorials donations may be sent to The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Foundation, P.O. Box 781352 Philadelphia, PA 19178-1352 in Memory of Tyler Brian Rich.
