Norman "Bud" Wehmeyer, Jr.

Norman ’Bud’ R. Wehmeyer, Jr of Hatboro passed away, on December 13, 2022 surrounded by family.

He was 75. He was the beloved husband of Gailmarie Wehmeyer with whom he had shared 45 years of marriage. He was born in Abington, the son of the late Norman and Nancy Wehmeyer.

After graduating from Upper Moreland High School, Bud joined the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged. He then worked for his father at Hatboro Garage Doors, he became a partner and eventually owner. He closed the business and retired in 2017. In his younger years while participating in Boy Scouts his love of camping, boating, and fishing grew which led him to spend a lot of time in Maryland at his campsite on his boat in the river. As the girls grew up, he was involved in their activities from umpiring their softball games and helping set up or break down gymnastic equipment. He enjoyed attending Eagles game with the family. Throughout the years he had many dogs. He always had a sidekick or two. In his later years, he enjoyed sitting back and watching the birds, feeding the squirrels, and waiting to catch a glimpse of a fox with his cat Figaro.

 In addition to his wife, Bud is survived by, two daughters, Kristie Machalette (Phil) and Laura Hunsicker (Jeff), and four grandchildren, Jacob, Kaitlyn, Alex, and Hannah.

 Relatives and friends will be received by his family on Thursday, December 29th after 11:00 am in Schneider Funeral Home, 431 N. York Road, Hatboro and are invited to attend his Memorial Service at 12:30 pm. His interment will be private.
