Patty Ann Winkler

Patty A Winkler of Hatfield, PA passed away peacefully on August 23, 2024.  She was 84 years old.  Born in Fredericksburg, PA, she was the eldest daughter of the late Robert and Madeline Rhodes. Pat was the widow of her late husband, Arthur G Winkler, with whom she shared 43 years. 

Pat graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a BA in Business Education and later in life she earned her Master’s degree from Rosemont College. She was a beloved teacher for 32 years, and retired from Souderton High School in 2000.  She was included in the first group of honorees in the Souderton Teacher Tribute Gallery in 2011. 

Pat was also a devoted member to her sorority, Beta Sigma Phi, for her entire adult life, and will be missed by her many sorority sisters. She loved spending time with her friends and was active in many women's groups through the years.  She enjoyed spending time traveling, going to the theater, and playing cards.  She was also known for all of her craft projects - needlepoint, card making, crocheting, and knitting her famous scrubbies.

Pat is predeceased by one brother, Donald Rhodes. .She is survived by four brothers – Samuel, Ronald, Steven and Roger Rhodes, and one sister Connie Alexander.  Pat is also survived by one daughter, Kimberly Coile and her husband, Steven, of Durham, NC, one step daughter, Lori McCausland, and her husband William of Carlsbad, CA and one step son, Gary Winkler of Pennsburg, PA.  Pat is also predeceased by one step son, Randy Winkler of Longmont, CO.

Pat was so proud of her 10 grandchildren – Daniel, Sean, Amanda, Jessica, Jarett, Jenna, Jamie, Jonathan, Kathryn, and James.  She loved spending time with her many great grandchildren as well.

As per Pat’s wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service held. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial donations to be made to St. Jude Children Research Hospital www.stjude.org
