Raymond Weikel Obituary

Raymond D Weikel, lifelong resident of Hatboro passed away peacefully on Monday, March 24, 2025 surrounded by the love of his family.  He was 78 years of age.  He was the beloved husband of Susan (Skow) Weikel with whom he shared nearly 55 years of happy marriage.  Ray was born in Abington, the son of the late James J and Eleanor Weikel.

After graduating from Upper Moreland High School in 1964, Ray worked at Fischer & Porter in Warminster as a glass lathe operator. In 1966 he joined the US Navy where he proudly served aboard the USS Maddox in the Vietnam War and aboard the USS Cunningham, which he was honorably discharged from in January 1969.  Upon return to civilian life Ray went back to work at Fischer & Porter where he met the love of his life, Susan.  He went on to have a successful career in Sales until his retirement in 2009.  His favorite place to spend time with his family was on the Mullica River in Sweetwater, NJ at their "River House", relaxing, fishing and floating down the river.

In addition to his wife, Susan, Ray is survived by two sons, Jeffery Weikel and his wife Amy of Upper Black Eddy, and Richard Weikel and his wife Megan of Southampton, a daughter, Bonnie Jansen and her husband Jim of Hatboro along with four cherished grandchildren, Brandon, Ryan, Norah and Julie. He is also survived by one brother, Robert Weikel and his wife Sandy and his brothers in law, Chris Skow and Bill Skow and his wife Patti along with many nieces and nephews.  He will be deeply missed by his dearest friends Harry Thomas of Marathon, FL and Ren Ide of Warrington.  Finally, he will be so very missed by his precious companion, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, his sweet little Abbi. Ray was preceded in death by his older brother Jay Weikel.

Relatives and friends will be received by his family on Tuesday, April 1st after 10:00 a.m. in Schneider Funeral Home, 431 N York Rd, Hatboro and to attend his Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 a.m.  His interment will be private.
