Richard O. Schroeder of Hatboro passed away on October 6, 2023. He was 94 years old. Richard was the beloved husband of Ginny Schroeder with whom he had shared over 72 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by his loving children; Ric Schroeder, Neil Schroeder and his wife Paula, Ellen Rooney and her husband Ken and Anne Sawicki and her husband John, Grandchildren; Matthew, Christina, Jonathan, Megan, Mark, Cassie, Daniel, David, Elizabeth, Allison, Justin, and Caitlyn, Great Grandchildren; Madison, Mason, Aaron, Ava, Micah, Sophia, Camila, Nora, Audrey, Mateo, Riley, Bennett, Joanna, Cameron, and Lucas. Richard was a loving Husband and Dad, adored Pop-pop and a cherished Opa.
He also was a U.S. Navy Veteran who proudly served during the Korean War. After his time in the service, Richard was an employee of PGW for 36 years until his retirement. He was a former member of the Executive Board of the Golden Agers and a member of the Junior Order United American Mechanics, New Tripoli Grand Council and an active volunteer at church. He was an avid fisherman and spent many enjoyable hours pursuing this passion.
Relatives and friends will be received by his family on Wednesday, October 25th after 10:30 am and are invited to attend his Memorial Service at 11:30 am in Lehman Memorial United Methodist Church, 300 S. York Road, Hatboro. His interment will follow at 2 pm in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Richard’s memory may be made to Lehman Memorial United Methodist Church at the above mentioned address.
