Robert G. Rucker, age 76, passed away on November 4, 2024 in Horsham, PA. Born in Trenton, NJ, Bob’s family moved to Bay Island in Virginia Beach, VA where he lived until he completed his formal education. Living near the water, he developed a love for boating and fishing.
Bob earned a degree in Chemistry from Virginia Wesleyan University and went on to become the Director of Environmental Affairs at Congoleum Corporation, a position he held until his retirement. He settled in Horsham, PA, where he spent 34 wonderful years with his beloved wife, Virginia.
In his free time, Bob was an avid woodworker and a passionate historian, particularly interested in military armament and logistics, and the evolution of automation in manufacturing. His hamburgers, cooked to perfection on his charcoal grill, were renowned by all who had the pleasure of tasting them. As a die-hard Boston Red Sox fan, he never missed a game.
Bob is survived by his wife, Virginia Brooke, his daughters Tracy Wilson (Doug), Alison Larkin (Drew) and grandchildren Matthew, Eric, August, and Natalie. He was preceded in death by his father George Bulkowski, his mother Alvi Rucker (Andersson), his stepfather Maxie Rucker, and his sisters Susie Lamaine (Mike) and Karin Wheeler (Randy).
