Robert E. Schmidt

Robert E. Schmidt, of Warminster, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2020. He was 82 years old. Robert was the loving husband of Barbara Ann (nee Rodgers) Schmidt with whom he shared 59 years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late William E. and Viola (nee Went) Schmidt.

Robert graduated from North Public High School and attended Temple University for 2 years. He proudly served in the United State Army for 3 years. Robert was the owner of Schmidt’s Dry Cleaners from 1962-1975 then proceeded to work for the City of Philadelphia Revenue Department. He was a baseball, football, and basketball coach for the Summerdale Boys Club for over 10 years. Robert was an avid golfer and would teach anybody that was willing to learn.

In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by his sons, Mark, Terrance, and Gerry (Cindy); his grandchildren, Christina (Bill), Mark, and Jack; and his great-grandchildren, Connor and Shea Dieterle. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Robert was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Kimberly; and his siblings, William, Rena, Loretta, and Joey.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Saturday, August 29, 2020 after 9:00 am until the time of his funeral mass at 10:30 am in St. John Bosco Church, 215 E County Line Road, Hatboro, PA 19040. His interment will immediately follow in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, social distancing practices must be observed and masks are mandatory.
