Robert D. Watkins

Robert D. Watkins of Hatboro passed away on November 7th, 2023, at Abington Memorial Hospital. He was 76 years old. He was the beloved husband of Ann Watkins with whom he shared 46 years of marriage. He was born in Hatboro, the son of the late Joseph and Florence Watkins.

Robert was drafted into the Army in 1967. He was a member of the 9th Infantry Division 2d Battalion, 4th Artillery. He spent 2 years deployed to the Mekong Delta area of Vietnam. He was honorably discharged from the Army with the rank of Corporal in 1973. During his service he received several medals including the Army Commendation Medal for meritorious service in connection with military operations in Vietnam. Robert spent over two decades working as the facility coordinator at Blair Mill Elementary School. 

In addition to his wife Ann, Robert is survived by his daughter Kimberly and her spouse Carrie of New Jersey. His brother Joseph Watkins of Japan, his sister Nancy Maggio (John) of Florida, Joan Anthony (Robert) of Pennsylvania, Betty Coons (Lenoard) of Pennsylvania, Susan Rice (Randy) of Pennsylvania, and Joyce Grant (Werner) of Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his Sister Florence Spencer (Herbert) of Maine and Barbara Ryea (Harold) of New Hampshire.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Saturday November 18th after 10am in Schneider Funeral Home, 431 N. York Rd, Hatboro and to attend his Funeral Service at 11:30am. His interment will follow in Hatboro Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Disabled American Veteran (DAV) Here.
