Ruth Jenny Dugan of Warminster passed away Saturday, September 30, 2023 peacefully in her home with family by her side. She was 74 years old. Ruth was the beloved wife of James E. Dugan with whom she had shared 36 years of marriage. Ruth was born in Horsham, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late James & Betty Kilfeather.
After graduating Hatboro-Horsham High School in 1967, Ruth immediately went to work. In 1977 she took a job at the Ball Corporation in Horsham, Pa. She held many jobs during her time there and finally retired as a Store Attendant at age 60. Ruth was an avid reader and loved to spend time curled up on the couch with a good book. She loved to travel with her husband, Jimmy; the islands were one of her favorite places to visit. Ruth was also passionate about animals, gardening, and her Irish heritage. One of Ruth’s favorite pastimes was dancing to the Oldies. A love that never faded; in her final years at home, the Oldies station played on the radio 24/7 and she could be heard humming along.
In addition to her husband, James Dugan, Ruth is survived by her daughter, Shannon Discher of Warminster, and Ruth’s four sisters: Ethel McElhinney (Charles) of Hatboro, Ann Harrar (James) of Horsham, Bonnie Powers (Dennis) of Maine and Kathy Hunsinger (Jeff) of Perkiomenville, as well as many nieces and nephews.
To honor Ruth’s wishes, there will not be a funeral service. The family asks that you celebrate her life as you see fit.
