Sandy (Sandra Ann) Zygmont, 69, passed away peacefully surrounded by love and family on May 20th, 2025. Sandy was born on April 19,1956 at Braddock Hospital and was raised in Duquesne, PA by the late Donald W and Mary E (Novosel) Kinneer. She is survived by her husband John J (Warrington), her sons John J Jr (Hatboro) and Eric J (Warrington), and daughter Cassandra A (Warrington). Her grandsons John W, Gavin A, and Alexander M., her brother David (Patti) Kinneer (Finleyville), her sister Mary Ann, sister-in-law Kathy Recklitis (Joe), brother-in-law Stephen Zygmont (Pat), and many nieces and nephews. She was also a loving granddaughter, niece, and cousin to two very large and loving families.
Sandy appreciated the gift of being a mother and grandmother (Goo-Goo) and proud of her children and grandchildren. Whether she was teaching, cheering, hugging, supporting, or just showing up for them she counted “being there for them” among her favorite experiences. After graduating from Duquesne High School in 1974, Sandy attended Waynesburg University where she received her BS in Biology, was an active and devoted sorority sister (Sigma Kappa), and met lifelong friends including her husband John.
John and Sandy were married in July of 1981 and resided in Hatboro for thirty-five years. It was there that they raised their children, were active community members and served the Borough of Hatboro for decades. They moved to Warrington in 2016 to a more age friendly home. In addition to homemaking, Sandy served as a PTA mom, Union Library of Hatborough Board President, treasurer, and board member, Little League team mom, Hatboro-Horsham Soccer club treasurer, Hatboro Council Member, a member of the Hatboro Republican Organization, Hatboro Committee Woman, a member of the Montgomery County Republican Committee, fundraised for the Hatboro Pool Revitalization, and served as a board member of the Hatboro Borough Authority member. She was known in her community for her acts of service and her hard work.
After her children were all beyond elementary age, Sandy went to work for the Upper Moreland Township School District for twenty-seven years. Over that time, she served as a Primary- Intermediate School paraprofessional, reading support specialist, and in one-on-one support. The amount of joy and sense of accomplishment Sandy felt in being a part of the educational foundations of children was immeasurable. She enjoyed the friendships she made and camaraderie she felt with her co-workers and fellow educators.
Along with her service, advocations, and other works, she loved her family, her neighbors, and friends. Her passion for baking for her family, friends and the Hatboro-Horsham Robotics Team 708 fundraising efforts had no limit. (No one made a better chocolate chip cookie). She also loved her flowers, gardening, spending time on the beach, sunsets, the moon, travelling, and spending time with John and the children on their many Griswold-style family vacations. As time went on they added the grandchildren to the trips. Her immediate family, siblings, in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many longtime friends were all considered a part of her family. They helped her live a full, service-oriented, and loving life and she returned that to them. The memories she left behind are found in the hearts of all those who knew her and how special she was.
Relatives and friends are invited to her evening viewing on June 4 , 2025 from 5 pm until 7 pm in Schneider Funeral Home 431 N.
