Stephen Brown Obituary

Stephen G. Brown, age 69, of Warminster, PA, entered into eternal life, way too soon, on Tuesday, August 23, 2022. He was born on November 9,1952 in Abington, PA. Steve was the son of the late George and Patricia (Hee) Brown. Beloved husband of Susan M. Kershner; loving father to Jason Brown (Cindy), Kelly Brown (Dan), Steve Kershner (Shawna), Kate Saunders (Sean) and Peter Kershner; dear brother to Mark Brown (Tina). Steve is also survived by his nephew Alex Brown, niece Hannah Brown, and six grandchildren, Brooklyn, Alexa, Asher, Fiona, Gavin, and Willow.

After graduating from Upper Moreland High School, Steve went on to earn his degree in Business from Delaware Valley College. At the age of 22, he began his career working as an Optician with his father, George Brown. Steve grew professionally and started his own eye glasses company, Senior Medical Services. He was known as the “Vintage Eyeglasses Extraordinaire.” Steve was extremely devoted to his business and his heart was in the right place, he wanted to help others.

Throughout his years, Steve was an avid sports enthusiast. He loved playing softball with his church buddies and he was known to chant “Hail to The Redskins!” during football season. Steve was a longtime basketball coach at William Tennent High School and a basketball referee. But what he enjoyed the most were the “Brown Boys Outings” (Golfing, Phillies games, and Flyers games). Steve spent many New Year’s Days partying down Broad Street in Philadelphia during the Mummer’s Parade. Music was a huge part of Steve’s heart and soul. He was an entertaining DJ, “Karaoke King”, and he impacted numerous Nursing Home residents with his singing and dancing acts. Making others happy fueled his spirit and Steve did this effortlessly. Steve spent the majority of his days bringing fun, laughter, and happiness into the lives of his friends and family. Steve was the definition of “LIFE”- he would light up a room with his vibrant personality and at a party he was certainly the loudest attending guest. To know Steve was to love him. He was Kind of a Big Deal. Relatives and friends are invited to Steve’s visitation on Tuesday August 30, 2022, after 10:00AM in St. John’s Lutheran Church, 1224 Melrose Ave, Elkins Park, PA 19027 and are invited to attend his Funeral Service at 12:00 pm.
