Steven Andrew Westerman of Reading passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2024. He was 62 years old. Steve
was born in Abington, the son of George W. Westerman and Norma K. Selzle. Steve was the beloved
partner of Stacy Carlisle of 32 years and is survived by his son Steven John Westerman of Michigan
(Elizabeth), his sisters Kim (Adam) Gawronski of Dallas, Texas and Joyce (Paul) Purtell of Hatboro, PA,
Stepmother Ethel Westerman of Telford PA, Stepsister Cathy Young of Blue Bell PA, two grandchildren,
three nieces, and one grandnephew and one grandniece.
An avid sports enthusiast from the time he was young, Steve played baseball, basketball, and football
through high school, excelling at the positions of pitcher and quarterback. Every weekend you would
find Steve watching and cheering on the Phillies and the Eagles, his favorites. He enjoyed hunting and
fishing with his father, travelling the US for the best spots for deer, elk, and fish.
Steve always had a mischievous streak and could always be counted on for pulling pranks with his sisters
and cousins as a kid. He had a knack for assigning everyone in the family with nicknames that stuck
though none stuck to him. Although he became a solitary man in later life, Steve loved his family and
always expressed his concern for their well-being more than his own.
Relatives and friends will be received by his family on Saturday, April 27th after 9:00 am and are invited to attend his Memorial Service at 10:00 am in Schneider Funeral Home, 431 N. York Road, Hatboro, PA 19040. His interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Roslyn. To share memories and condolences with Steve's family, visit his tribute page above.
