Obituary

Susan (nee Felton) Metzgar, 75, of Wyomissing, PA, died peacefully Friday, April 15, at Columbia Cottage. Born in Shenandoah, PA, she was a daughter of the late C. Paul Felton and Grace (nee McCrory) Felton.

Susan is survived by her husband of 53 years, Robert E.Metzgar; her daughter, Susanne McMenamy; her son, Robert P. Metzgar; and her grandchildren, Aedan, Molly, Ian, Darren, and Winter. She is also survived by her sister, MaryAnna Dalske.

Susan was a graduate of Jenkintown High School, Class of 1964. She received her RN from Abington Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1967. She was employed by the hospital and eventually became the first Coordinator of Medical Records for their Visiting Nurse Association.

Susan was an avid fan of the Olympics, the Indianapolis 500, and the Iditarod. She also enjoyed sewing, cross-stitching, and embroidery work. She was a lifetime member of the Willow Grove United Methodist Church as well as the Pennsylvania State University Alumni Association.

Her interment will be private and held at Whitemarsh Memorial Park in Ambler.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to a charity of your choice.
