Virgil Cardamone Obituary

Virgil Anthony Cardamone of Hatboro passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at his home. He was 71. He was the husband of Karen Ann (Taddei) Cardamone with whom he shared 46 years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Virgil C. and Anna G. (Rosello) Cardamone.

After graduating from Cardinal Dougherty High School, Virgil worked for Decision Data Computer Corporation for many years before moving on to Atlas Cold Storage, and then finally to Da-Tech Corporation. However, his true passion in life was working as a PIAA official for football, basketball and softball for over 45 years. Those who knew Virgil best knew that he was a die hard Philadelphia sports fan. Nothing brought him more joy than watching his teams win championships. However, like all Philadelphia sports fans, he thrived on the thrill of victories, but truly agonized over defeats. He was also an avid music lover, often quoting lyrics in daily conversation.

In addition to his wife, Virgil is survived by his daughter Amanda M. Jacobus (Robert) of Hatboro, and two sons, Virgil F. Cardamone (Nancy Clark) of Horsham, and Nicholas A. Cardamone of Hatboro; five grandchildren, Zoe, Hope, Francesca, Virgil K., and Henry; and his four older sisters Angelina Scalies (late Charles), Mary Cafolla (late Frank), Elizabeth Bongard (late Robert), and Bernadette Edison (Wayne).
