William (Bill) Pippel of Hatboro passed away on October 4th, 2022. He was the devoted husband of Kathleen (Kathie). They were happily married for more than 50 years. Born and raised in Cheltenham, Bill was the youngest of 6 children.
Bill was a graduate of North Catholic High School. His wife, Kathie, was a graduate of Frankford High School. North Catholic and Frankford were rival schools who played a football game every Thanksgiving. This rivalry led to teasing to see who would be head of the household for the coming year.
After graduation, Bill joined the army and served in the Korean War as a supply sergeant. Bill took pride in having the responsibility of providing the men the supplies they needed to be successful. He was honorably discharged.
Bill and Kathie and moved to Hatboro where Bill took a position at the local Post Office. He worked there for 43 years.
Bill was an avid Phillies Phan and listened to 162 games each year. But before the Phillies, he was an Athletics fan. Bill always held out hope that one day his A's would return to Philadelphia.
Bill is survived by his two children. His daughter, Julianne and her husband Anthony Marsella. His son Jeffery, his wife Julie and their daughter Natalie reside in Maryland. He also has seven nieces, and three nephews who he loved dearly.
Relatives and friends are invited to share in the celebration of his life on Saturday Oct 22nd at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 877 Street Road in Southampton PA. Visitation will start at 9:30 and continue until the funeral service begins at 10:30. Interment is at Hatboro Cemetery.
