William N. Schrope

William N. Schrope, of Huntingdon Valley, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 11, 2021. He was 83 years old. Bill was the beloved husband of 60 years to Gayle Schrope. He was born in Abington, PA, a son of the late William S. and Helen (Nelson) Schrope.

Bill served his country in the Korean War in the United States Army. Bill and Gayle founded their family heating and air conditioning business in 1971, known today as Huntingdon Mechanical Contractors in Willow Grove. Bill was a devoted father and when he was not working in the office or playing solitaire on his computer, he enjoyed relaxing in their Florida winter home. Bill was an avid fisherman, catching Halibut in Alaska to Marlin in the Caribbean. Bill was a member of the W.K. Bray Lodge 410 in Hatboro and will be remembered by all for his fantastic sense of humor.

In addition to his wife Gayle, Bill is survived by his four children, Wendy Szandrocha and her husband, Doug, Bill Schrope, Jr. and his wife, Mary, Laurie Shea and her late husband, Eric, and Ken Schrope and his wife, Leigh.  He was known as “Pop” to his 9 grandchildren, Bill Davies, Chad Davies, Leah Rosling, Bill Schrope III, Randi Shea, Mike Shea, Scott Shea, Kenny Schrope, and Dylan Schrope; many great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Ann Franklin and Nancy Bunch. 

Bill also leaves behind his extended family, the employees of Huntingdon Mechanical and their family (past and present). The “BOSS” will be greatly missed!

Bill’s Funeral and burial will be private at the request of the family.
