Yon “Lee” Wipplinger, of Hatboro, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on December 22, 2025, at Springhouse Estates, at the age of 86.
Born in Gunsan, Korea, Lee was the beloved daughter of Kwe Jun Yi (이괘준) and Kum Yea Song (송금예). After the Korean War, Lee worked at Kunsan Air Base, where she met the love of her life, Alvin C. Wipplinger Jr. Following their marriage, Alvin brought Lee and her family to the United States, where they began their life together and raised three children: Alvin C. Wipplinger III, Robert L. Wipplinger, and Audrey L. Wipplinger. Lee and Alvin shared 51 devoted years of marriage and have now been eternally reunited in heaven.
Lee excelled in her career in the banking industry where she developed many friendships. She lived an active lifestyle; playing racquetball, going apple picking, and completing marathons with her walking group. She had a passion for international traveling and loved cooking; making a point to prepare Sunday dinner weekly at 5PM sharp. Lee never missed a trip with her granddaughters to the Asian supermarket, Assi, where she reminisced about Korean cooking to keep tradition alive. She cherished her family and friends above all else. Lee will be remembered for her charismatic spirit, loving nature, and fierce loyalty.
Lee is survived by her two sons, Alvin C. Wipplinger III (Lisa) and Robert L. Wipplinger (Colleen); her daughter, Audrey L. Wipplinger; and her four grandchildren, Jaclyn, Allison, Robert (Olivia), and Kai. Her spirit lives on at Springhouse Estates in Lower Gwynedd, where she was adored by the staff - keeping them engaged with her quick wit and expectation of a visit from her family. She was a woman who touched the lives of many with her "no negative" attitude and upbeat disposition. Lee had a special relationship with her granddaughters, Jaclyn and Allison, who tenderly cared for her in her final years. She took immense pride in her immediate family and their accomplishments. Lee will be sorely missed and never replaced.
Family and friends are invited to attend her memorial and celebration of life on Friday, January 9, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m. in Schneider Funeral Home, 431 N. York Road, Hatboro, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be private. To share memories and condolences with Lee’s family, please visit her tribute page above.
