Zarko G. Markovich, of Pipersville, passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 in his home. He was 82. Zark was the devoted husband of Dolores (Cody) Markovich with whom they shared 60 years of marriage. Born in Hatboro, he was a son of the late Zarko Markovich Jr. and Dorothy Markovich. Zark and his wife Dolores were blessed with 8 children, Zark Markovich, Denise Keenan, Lisa Thornton, Alane Herrmann, Celeste Gunning, Brett Markovich, Tina Siegfried, and Amy Cristinziani; 22 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
After graduating from William Tennent High School, Zark worked for his father’s business Markovich Auto Parts in Hatboro. Zark was a lifelong musician with a passion for playing guitar. He was a member of Moonlighters and other bands throughout his life. Zark provided countless children and adults guitar lessons at both his home studio and Zapf’s Music Store in Jenkintown. He retired from his position as a Bucks County Property Assessor to enjoy his time with family, camping, canoeing, creating artwork, and many other hobbies. Zark was a long-time member of WCHA (Wood Canoe Heritage Association). He enjoyed restoring antique wooden canoes and paddling trips across lakes.
Relatives and friends will be received on Friday May 28, 2021 after 10:00 am in Schneider Funeral Home, 431 N. York Rd, Hatboro, until the time of his Memorial Service at 11:30 am. His interment will be private.
